Reading glasses can be a fashion statement that defines character and personality. From John Lennon’s famous round bifocals to the designer reading glasses of all shapes, size and color, eye glasses have found a place in the fashion industry for every designer’s theme. Colored reading glasses can be matched to any clothing article and can even be coordinated with accessories and makeup. Eye glasses are often matched with purses, shoes and even cell phones to show class, style and color coordinated sophistication.

Designer reading glasses can range in price from $1.00 for generic glasses to $350 and up for prescription glasses with additional features such as anti-glare, anti-scratch and tinted coatings. Anti-glare coatings have become a must have feature for anyone who spends time in front of a computer monitor or drives at night. The anti-glare feature can reduce up to 60% of unwanted glare and provide more than just a fashion statement when wearing your glasses.

A fashion statement is often defined by the accessory choice made to compliment the clothing and eye glasses can be the most effective and noticed accessory to the public. The first place people look is at your face and even more specifically your eyes. Glasses can be used to accentuate your eye color and complement your facial features depending on the shape, size and color of the frames. Frameless or rimless eye glasses have become a fashion statement of class and style for most business professionals and can be found in most optical stores.

Most optical stores will allow you to browse and try on their frames to find the best fit for you. There are numerous theories and suggestions for matching different frames shapes and sizes with facial features pertaining to the roundness of the chin or wideness of the forehead. Everyone is different and the most important critic is you so trying on glasses to find the right ones for you will be the best advice for choosing the perfect reading glasses to match your own particular style. Reading glasses are the perfect accessory to any fashion style and project personality based your choice of frames and lenses.

One of the easiest ways for women to compliment their smart looking pant suits or stylish blazers with silk scarves. Women scarf are portable, compact, and gorgeous. This fashion accessory adds versatility and style to any wardrobe. Women’s silk scarf is particularly attractive for the shimmering look and its soft feel and radiant look gives a different to any one who wears it. The most popular women scarves these days are cashmere and silk, they look very beautiful whether they worn with a suit, denim jacket, sports jacket, leather jacket or sweater.

Scarves for women. Whatever type of weather you find yourself in, a womens scarf can be a stylish and elegant addition to your outfit. They can add much needed warmth during the cold days and nights of winter, or they can give you that fresh, stylish and bohemian look during the sunny days of summer. However, wearing such is not just a simple wrap-around-your-neck thingy that you can wear without any flair or fashion sense. Wearing them requires a degree of knowledge on stylish fashion with a little bit of grace and confidence to boost everything up. The following provides some short advices on how you can do this on your own accord.

Tips on Wearing Scarf Fashionably:

1. Before you start with anything else, you must first choose and acquire the perfect set of scarfs that you can add to your fashion wardrobe. You can choose from several selections considering various elements like design, material, size, color, and texture. Long and narrow pieces are moreversatile fashion accessories as you can do a lot of folding and tying with them. Whatever you choose, ensure that the overall look and appeal will match your personality, and your existing wardrobe for that matter and would not be in conflict with the image you are projecting.

2. You must learn how to tie and fold these in various ways that would depend on what particular application you are intending it for. You should learn how to tie it up as a headband or a head wrap or you can learn how to wrap it like a shawl on your shoulders or loosely tying it around your neck. You should learn and experiment with new ways to tie and fold them up so you can achieve the perfect look that you want every time.

3. A scarf can be a great fashion accessory but be wary about wearing one that would be a complete mismatch to what you are wearing or to your prevalent wardrobe style. It may look rather foolish or inappropriate if worn with a particular dress using a particular style and cut. You could also be wearing a simple and plain outfit that would suddenly be transformed into something fashionistas would scramble for just by adding a simple scarf.

4. The scarf should also complement other accessories that you have and not clash with any of them. You might be looking like a walking Christmas tree if you overdo it. The key thing here is to learn when to wear your scarfs and what to wear along with them.

Fashion jewelry, including rings, even if high quality will never be as durable and long lasting as fine jewelry. However using costume jewelry, as it is often called, allows you to follow fashions and the latest trends without it costing a fortune. Even expensive fine jewelry won’t last forever without the proper care and attention.

Proper care will prolong the life of your jewelry. Keeping jewelry away from chemicals, lotions, water and perfume as much as possible will prolong the life of your fashion jewelry. Make sure when using cleaners you read the instruction label and that the cleaner doesn’t contain chemicals harmful to the materials your jewelry is made out of, e.g. gold silver, aluminium, chrome, pearls or gems. Also avoid soap and water as most soap will leave a residue, which can make the metal look dull. Vinegar is harmful to gemstones. Using a very soft cloth moistened with water is ok, but don’t submerge the item entirely. Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before you wear or store it.

Here are some tips for storing.

1) Moisture is the most important thing to avoid and can destroy the metals. Store in a soft jewelry pouch or plastic Ziploc bag

2) Avoid temperature changes as this can affect stone settings and the glue used.

3) Sore separately from other items to avoid scratching and stones getting dislodged.

4) Avoid Oak boxes and cabinets as this wood can release fumes that can damage fashion jewelry.

5) Avoid cardboard boxes as they are often treated with sulphur, which will tarnish gold and silver.

Following the above advice will greatly prolong the luster and life of your fashion jewelry and rings.

Last week, sitting at an old family friend’s cafe chatting about this and that, my friend (just over 50) noticed a teen walking past on their way out.

“How can boys like that?”

“Like what?” I asked

“That long hair with mud flaps at the back?!” he exclaimed

I couldn’t stop laughing. Although a funny comparison, unfortunately it was true.
The young man was wearing jeans almost at his ankles, long hair, and something that resembled a t-shirt under a grungy, what looked like, a leather jacket.

So for those who are at cross roads about today’s fashion and present-ability of our youth people, today, just for you, I have two things to share:

1. AN INSIGHT
It seems like the ‘long hair on guys’ is putting everyone off because it’s ‘girly’.
But I am not sure if people have forgotten than when the ‘forbidden rock and roll’ started taking the youth of the world by storm way back when, the most popular band were loved and hated for their velvet jackets and long hair. Decades later, the Beatles are forever in the history of music.

Just a reminder that to those who say times are different these days…

2. TOP TIPS
Fashion will come and go, and almost everyone is prone to it. For those who don’t believe me, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ has an excellent scene where unfashionable Andy makes fun of a belt dilemma at a fashion magazine, and in return gets told the unabridged version of the history of blue garments that stand behind the $2 blue sweater she wore to work that day. Excellent movie. But anyway…
Although you can’t force a teen to wear the clothes you want, you can still give them supportive advice and compromise.

A) Be supportive of their fashion choices – if it’s blatantly ridiculous, you can sleep peacefully at night knowing one day when they grow up, they will admit you were right about their ridiculous fashion choices. I still cringe when I think about the VERY WIDE 70’s style Levi’s I had that my parents hated when I was 14 – we all thought we were the ’schizz’ when we wore those jeans…except now I know we weren’t…

B) If their clothing is blatantly nonfunctional (e.g. jeans around ankles), or unhygienic (e.g. long jeans that track mud around the house like a dirty bike) take them early birthday/Christmas/New Years shopping ASAP

C) Next time you go to the hairdressers, get them to come with you, or get them to have a look at some magazines with hairstyles in there – you may find out that they actually hate their hair
the way it is now.

D) If you attend art gallery opening, shows, etc, ask if the teen wants to come with you – a reason for them to dress up and take pride in their outer-skin, as well as get to know and see people with different fashion styles.

E) Remember your days…laugh about them, share them! My brother used to have long crazy whacky hair, until we went back home to Russia and he saw pictures of my Dad with long whacky hair in his
youth (it looked just as ridiculous as my brothers – I swear!). The next day without any of our knowledge, my brother turned up home with a much shorter haircut.

Girls who do not have tons of money lying around, but want in on the hottest outfits and fashion trends can still do so even on a budget. There are plenty of items out there that look chic and stylish, and yet are easy on the purse strings. All it takes to land decent deals on cool clothes and accessories are heeding good advice and doing some really smart shopping.

Yes, it is possible to get celebrity fashion looks for way under $100. Face it. Regular “Janes” seldom afford designer duds Hollywood celebs are wearing. As a result, people look for other means to fulfill their fashion hankerings. Some recreate the outfits of celebrities, pulling apart each piece and replacing them with less expensive but pricey-looking materials. Others do something else. The bottom line is: there are ways to get stylish without burning a huge hole in the pocket.

Here are tips to get you out of a fashion slump and be one step closer to looking ultra-chic – the affordable way.

• It sucks to find out your latest fashion splurge went up for sale a week after buying it. Before forking over a credit card, inquire whether the object of the fashion desire will be on sale sometime in the very near future. The salesperson might let you in on an upcoming sale, or even better, ring the item up at sale price on the spot.
• Another great way to snag the best deals is to stock up on seasonal apparel just when the season is about to end. Comb through the sale racks for sweaters in May, bikinis in August, and short-sleeved shirts in November.
• Avoid gift cards going to waste. They can still be good for swapping with others’ unwanted cards on various card websites.
• Thrift shops, like high-priced boutiques, can prove equally expensive. However, friends’ wardrobes and closets are usually free. Arrange clothing swaps with the chicest of your chums. For varying shoe sizes or different dresses, consider accessories exchanges – costume jewelry, headbands, scarves and bags.
• Get good selections by hitting stores on weekdays. Best odds of getting lucky are Thursdays, as these are when weekend sales pop up. Shoppers benefit from the price cuts while still having a wide selection to browse. The worst time to go is later in the weekends as stuff will have been picked over by the early birds.
• After items stay in stores for months, retailers begin dropping their price to get rid of them. For those with enough self-control: wait out grabbing the merchandise for six to eight weeks after they hit the storefronts.
• Benefit from half-off, buy-one-take-one and other such discounts – NOT by acquiring everything you are able to carry, but by bringing fashion-forward friends along. The two of you crave a new pair of pants? Hit the store together and get in on the special deals.
• Consider shopping online using online coupons. These coupons are similar to vouchers people clip in newspapers and magazines, providing deals, promotional bundles and discounts. They are found online with codes people can copy, download and print prior to shopping. Some of them even don’t require any downloading, simply enter the provided code and start enjoying the savings. Sites compile them from different sources and make them available for free to Internet shoppers. Some coupons give percentage discount, offer free shipping (no territorial limits or boundaries for selling online), and/or freebies.
• Everybody has that one place that messes up her shopping sense and judgment. Compel yourself to remain within a specified budget and guard against impulsive spending. Load gift cards only with amounts you’re able to spend and leave plastic moneys at home.
• Take good care of clothes. Hand-wash delicate lingerie, dry-clean those tagged “dry-clean”, and never let the bedroom floor serve as a second closet. Favorite items will last longer this way so there is no need to replace them a few months into using them.

With a bit of time and some effort, consumers can save quite a bundle with their fashion shopping. Whether it is paying brick-and-mortar stores a personal visit or searching through cyber stores, there are some definite money savings to be had. Even if it is just a few dollars for each purchase, all these can add up to some very substantial savings in the end.

During these tough times, you need to be able to save on girls fashion and accessories. So for discount apparel and other fashion savings for girls, check out the merchants featured and rated at CouponTrunk.com

Making fashion beaded bracelets, necklaces and other jewelry pieces have become very popular over the past few years. From young to old, making beaded jewelry is fun, unique, and is a way to show off your creativity.

It’s a great way to find a hobby that you can do with family and friends, allowing everyone’s imagination to go wild. Making fashion beaded bracelets, you will need to purchase the proper tools and supplies to create fashionable jewelry.

Most all craft stores will carry the tools that are needed to make the jewelry. They will also have an assortment of different beads that will be needed. The array of colors and shapes will be overwhelming at deciding on what to purchase.

If it’s your first time at making fashion beaded bracelets, it’s best to just try to stick with the less expensive beads when you are starting out. The sales people in these craft stores are enthusiastic about crafts, so always feel free to ask questions, because they can give you good advice.

When you are first starting out making fashion beaded bracelets, its always best to just purchase the basic tools. If your interest grows more for beading, you can always add to your collection.

You will need the basics of wire cutters, a pair of craft scissors and jewelry pliers. These are the tools that you will need to start out with for jewelry making.

When you have decided on your beads, you then will have to make a decision on the material that will be used to string your beads together.

One of the best materials to start with, is elastic or stretch string. All that is needed to make the bracelet is to knot the one end of the string, and slip the beads on to the string, and then knot the other end.

You might have to place a small dab of glue at the knot for extra security of the beads. You can also use bendable wire, if you want your bracelet to be sturdier and flexible. A solid bracelet, you will need just regular wire to give more of a chain effect.

To fasten fashion beaded bracelets together, you can either tie the ends together or purchase a clasp. The clasp is much more stronger and gives a better finish to the bracelet. There are different clasps that you can purchase, some are more expensive then others.

A toggle clasp is very attractive, but can be a bit pricier to purchase. When it comes to making fashion beaded bracelets, you can use your imagination and make whatever style and design that you prefer.

Jewelry making can become very addictive, making this a hobby that you can spend hours at enjoying. It’s a great way to give a beaded bracelet as a gift that comes from the heart and is inexpensive to make. Everyone loves a gift that you have taken the time to make and have used your own creativity with the person in mind that you will be giving it to.

Ever wondered which items you should wear right now, which ones you should store in your jewelry box, and which ones you should part with? Well, we’re here to help with some expert advice on what’s hot in the world of fashion jewelry.

Necklaces
You should wear big, bold, chunky designs with handcrafted stones or geometric shapes. Long strands of pearls, delicate beads or multi-strand gold and sterling silver jewelry chains are also a big hit right now. For a personalized look, nameplate necklaces are still popular.

You should store vintage and hand-me-down birthstone necklaces and keepsake lockets, as these favorites never really go out of style. That’s the difference between a trend and a piece with true staying power. Also keep classic short strands of pearls and beaded chokers.

You should toss stretchy chokers that have might be classified as grunge or gothic. Chunky peace sign necklaces have seen their hay day, as this look has been updated in favor of more feminine and delicate designs.

Earrings
You should wear mini florals with small details for a fresh bohemian touch. Large hoop earrings have also made a comeback, and are acceptable outside of the office.

You should store small hoop earrings, lightweight feather earrings and understated pieces. They’re sure to make a comeback in years to come.

You should toss earrings that drop below your collarbone, as this will never be a fashion “do”, as it causes the neckline to look shorter than it is.

Bracelets
You should wear oversized cuffs and layers of bangles in natural fabrics and textures. A sterling silver or gold metal works with either. Watch cuffs are also one hot ticket this year.
You should store beaded stretch bracelets and basic black bangles.
You should toss spiked bracelet cuffs.

Rings
You should wear a statement cocktail ring or multi finger ring.
You should store rings that are too small or can be worn as a pendant.
You should toss rings with missing center stones. In this case, it’s more cost effective to replace the whole ring.

Trends for men or women, trends for kids and dogs etc. articles are related to fashion trends, but what about the teens. Searching for teen fashion trends and guidelines regarding teen modeling and model pictures are difficult than any other. Teenagers fight against society, work hard to be different from others, but they also create new fashion styles.
Emotional style is the latest trend. This style is only for those who like black colors.
Colors like green, pink, red, yellow matched with black will make the teen models look really attractive. If you are in fashion style, you must have right hairdo. Female models can have zelda hairdo and male models can have jet black mop top hairdo. Models can also have bell bottom jeans, cigarette-shaped jeans with studded belt etc. For wearing top, you may choose anything you want, but should be sure about its fitting and color. Even large size jewelry will suit the young girls. EMO fashion style is perfect for the teens who wear glasses. Even glasses are of various types, you must look after it and see which suits you the best.

Hip hop have never been out of fashion. Music that speaks street language is really for the young generation. It is rather different to have a hip-hop style for teen boys and girls. Young boys usually wear loose pants and young girls wear tight outfits. Even cap is the other, which is must for these young teens. But while selecting colors, clothes you can select any color of your choice. And it is of different types, teen girls usually wear trendy caps of different color. Young boys prefer blue jeans and white-colored top while for young girls the choice is not predictable. To be trendy in this fashion world, girls should wear big earrings and boys should wear at least one ring. And talking about the purses or bags what the female models will prefer also matters. They can carry small trendy purse which suits with the color of their clothes and that makes them look really amazing. For young boys purse will not matter as they keep in pockets.

Fashion designers have come up with many trendy clothes for promotional model and young models. Dressing all black, coloring your hair black, whitening your face, to make everything look blacker is a current trend. Choosing big shoes with thick heels, going for metal details all over your clothing and accessories will make it a perfect teen model. If you wear a short or a long skirt, a close fit top or a loose one it would be ok if it is a black color. Even some teenagers like Bohemian style as fashionable. If young models wore loose light colored clothes, wraps and wooden, stone or amber accessories, they will really look like a bohemian girl or boy.

You will find endless information resources on the web about modeling and what it takes to become a professional model. Every article won’t be the same and some might give contradictory advice about what is the first thing you need to do. Some insiders for example suggest that you don’t necessarily need professional photos right from the start, but others maintain that the first thing an aspiring model needs is a professional portfolio and some comp cards.

“Applying for jobs is like dating,” says Rebecca Goodman, 26. “Either they’re interested or they’re not. Plus there’s the whole trying-on-outfits-before-the-interview, which feels a lot like getting dressed for a first date.”

Rebecca speaks from experience. It took a number of jobs (and countless applications and interviews) to land her current position. As an account manager for big-name fashion houses, she handles press and media coverage, plans events and—most thrilling of all—organizes fashion shows. “I’ve finally found a place where I feel comfortable and open with the people I work with, and where I’m excited and challenged every day,” she says.

For Rebecca, whose love for fashion bloomed in junior high while following trends in issues of YM and Seventeen, her success has stemmed directly from her persistence. “It’s really about being aggressive. You have to know what you want and go for it. I’ve never worried, ‘Oh I don’t know if I should call since I already emailed.’ I just called.”

This take-charge attitude could scare off potential dates, but it has worked wonders in Rebecca’s professional life. While a junior at the University of Michigan, majoring in communications and media studies, she ripped out every fashion ad from issues of Vogue, Elle and Bazaar, researched each line and found contact information, and sent her résumé. She landed interviews in New York with Ralph Lauren, Chanel and then Henri Bendel, which hired her for a two-month marketing and PR internship. From working hands-on with the clothing to dealing with fashion editors to planning trunk shows, Rebecca loved all the responsibilities. “There are a ton of different sectors in the fashion industry; my internship helped me recognize that marketing and PR are where I fit in,” she says.

Once she graduated from the University of Michigan, Rebecca returned to New York and once again found a job through dogged persistence. She saw a posting on hotjobs.com for a PR assistant at Ferragamo and sent them her résumé every day. When she hadn’t heard back after a few days, she called and asked to speak with someone in Human Resources. From there, she scheduled an interview and got the job.

While there, she learned one of the most important lessons of her career. During her first month on the job, she sent out an event invitation with the wrong date on it. “Don’t rush through your work,” she admonishes. “Quadruple check everything. I thought for sure I was going to be fired.”

Rebecca wasn’t fired, but she eventually outgrew her position at Ferragamo and started looking elsewhere. After four months and fifteen interviews, she was hired as a PR Manager at Hermes. She stayed for only six months—she didn’t feel challenged in her role—and started freelance styling for Kelly Ripa, which eventually led to her current position.

Rebecca has found a perfect professional match at Paul Wilmot Communications. She considers her coworkers as friends, and her responsibilities a privilege. “Fashion week is the most stressful, but most exciting time of my year,” she says. In addition to working backstage, and meeting fashion icons like Victoria Beckham and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, she witnesses firsthand the artwork of masters such as Oscar de la Renta. “When I see the looks come down the runway, I pinch myself.”

“Never settle for something you’re not happy doing, even if it pays the bills,” says Rebecca. “You really need to love what you’re doing. You’re not going to grow or be successful if it’s not something you care about.”

Sounds like good dating advice.
